Morocco receives its 7 millionth tourist
[December 2007]:
Wednesday December 19th welcomed the arrival of Morocco's 7 millionth tourist at Fez-Sais airport.
The lucky tourist was the Father of a French family who were celebrated in a ceremony on the National Tourism Day by the Minister of Tourism and Handicraft, Mr. Mohammed Boussaid. The lucky family was then honourd with a weeklong stay in the city of Fez, free of charge.
This initiative was in line with the national development strategy, "Vision 2010", which stated that the country should receive 7 million tourists by 2007. It now aids good international confidence in His Highness King Mohammed VI's programme which further strives to raise tourism numbers to 10 million by the year 2010.
